Fall 2018 Knit-a-long!

September 24th-December 17th

As the days get shorter and the weather gets damp and chilly, slip on some cozy Local Roots Mukluks to keep your feet warm through the winter.

Andrea Mowry's Local Roots Mukluk slippers are knit from the cuff down with an afterthought heel. Mowry's simple two stitch cable pattern is easy enough for an adventurous beginner. Even if you don't make a pair for yourself, mukluks make a great gift for the holidays!

These mukluks can be made in several different ways: one or at a time, with magic loop, two circulars, double pointed needles or the new Addi FlexiFlips. There are written as well as charted instructions. Mukluk slippers are a great introduction to sock techniques, so if you are scared of trying socks make a pair of mukluks first to get comfortable with the process.

The Local Roots Mukluk pattern is available as a single pattern on Ravelry for $7.00. The pattern was also published in A Sense of Place along with other Andrea Mowry patterns that we love. Purchase the yarn for the KAL and receive 10% off, purchase A Sense of Place and receive 20% off the cost of yarn. Be sure to pick up a set of suede slipper bottoms to make your mukluks non-slip!

Think you will need help? No problem! As with all of our knit alongs we offer free help on Monday nights from 6-8pm. We will wrap up the knit along on December 17th from 6-8pm, bring your favorite holiday treat and show off your new mukluks!
