Fall Courage and Veronika Knit Along!

September 30th - December 23rd

This Fall we are featuring two patterns from designer Shannon Cook! Knit one, or both!

Courage is a generously sized, worsted weight triangle shaped shawl. Shannon's design features a slip stitch motif that gives the illusion of stranded colorwork. We love it knit up with the long color changes of Noro Ito paired with hand dyed Manos del Uruguay Maxima. Choose boldly contrasting colors, or go for a more subtle tonal look! We have two samples in the shop, come take a look and let us help you find the perfect color combination!

Shawls aren't everyone's favorite accessory, so we are also featuring Veronika, an easy to wear, over-sized cardigan. Throw it over your shoulders at the office, on the couch or by the campfire, Veronika is truly a versatile cardigan that suits all styles and body types! Brooklyn Tweed Shelter is our favorite pick for this pattern. The woolen-spun construction makes for a lightweight cardigan, perfect for multiple seasons of wear. We have a sample on display at the shop, feel free to come by and try it on!

Q: KAL? What’s a KAL?

A: KAL stands for Knit-A-Long. Essentially, a KAL consists of a group of knitters knitting the same pattern at the same time. We choose patterns that we love, that we think our customers will really love too. Typically our KAL projects are at an intermediate level.

Q: I’m not a very fast knitter, do I have to keep on a schedule?

A: Nope! Every knitter has their own pace, and there is no need to knit according to a schedule. There is no need to try to be finished at a certain time.

Q: Do I have to knit at the shop?

A: While we love to have knitters in the shop, and coming to Monday night and Wednesday morning knitting groups, there is no need to come to the shop and knit. Knit at home in your pajamas, or come into the shop, whatever you want!

Q: So, why participate in a WildFibers KAL?

A: Staff at the shop have knitted the project in advance, so we are all familiar with not only the pattern, but the yarn we recommend. We can help with any issues that may arise in your knitting, we may have had the same problems and know how to fix it. KALs are a great time to try a new technique, or something you may not have chosen to knit on your own, you can be confident that the pattern we have chosen is well written and there is always support available at the shop. Participants also receive 10% off the yarn to complete the project!
