Fall 2023 Knit Alongs

September 23rd marks the first day of fall and the start of our Fall 2023 knit alongs!

This year we will have two options: a cardigan for intermediate knitters and a cowl that is suitable for all knitting levels- even beginners. Both these patterns will have accompanying blog posts. One for the cowl, and a series for different parts of the sweater.

Cryin’ Icicles

Our beginner friendly pattern, Cryin’ Icicles is a free cowl patten with clever shaping. By clever, we mean easy! The shaping is done all by changing needle sizes. If you can knit, purl, and yarn over, you can knit this cowl!

We are working on our sample in Blue Sky Fibers Extra, but Berroco Mercado would also work nicely. Two skeins is all you need of Extra and three of Mercado.

KAL participants can receive 10% of enough Extra or Mercado to knit the cowl with the code 2023KALCOWL online or in-store. We cannot retroactively apply this discount, so be sure to enter the code online!

We will have a blog post coming September 23 when we cast on!

Reading Cardigan

The Reading Cardigan is suitable for intermediate knitters, preferably those who have completed a sweater. It has some interesting design details like a folded collar/button band that incorporate (optional) hidden buttonholes. We used Brooklyn Tweed Shelter for our sample, but Tones or the new base Imbue would work for this pattern as well.

KAL participants are able to get 10% off Shelter, Tones, or Imbue when they purchase 11 or more skeins using the code 2023KALCARDI. We cannot retroactively apply this discount, so be sure to enter the code online!
